A STARS report and rating remains valid for three years; however, institutions are welcome to re-submit before the end of that timeframe. Some participants choose to maintain a full access subscription and submit for a new rating each year in an effort to more closely track their progress. Other institutions elect to submit unscored reports (i.e., Reporter submissions) between ratings to update information in the STARS database.
An institution may submit a maximum of one unscored report per year. In addition, each paid STARS subscription includes the ability to submit one scored report for a rating. The subscription must be renewed to submit a subsequent report.
