Can sustainable event planning be recognized under this credit?
This credit is intended to recognize programming and student learning about sustainability (e.g., informing students about the campus’ sustainability programming or educating participants about local foods being served during orientation activities). Incorporating sustainability strategies into event planning (e.g., making recycling bins accessible or avoiding use of bottled beverages during orientation) does not qualify. Sustainable event planning efforts may be captured elsewhere in STARS (IN 18: Green Event Certification).
